A Canadian Study Permit is the official document required for non-citizens and non-permanent residents who wish to study in Canada for more than 6 months.

Core Requirements for a Study Permit Application

The following are commonly required documents for a study permit application; specific requirements vary by case.

DLI Acceptance Letter
An official letter of acceptance from a designated learning institution (DLI) in Canada.
Proof of Funds
Evidence of sufficient funds to cover tuition and living expenses.
Police Certificate
Required where applicable, as specified in the application instructions.
Medical Examination
Arranged where applicable, as specified in the application instructions.
Custodianship Declaration (IMM 5646)
Required for minor students; reviewed and managed by our in-house licensed RCIC (see Custodianship Services).
Statement of Purpose
Statement of Purpose — outlining the student’s study goals and plans.

Why You Need a Licensed Immigration Consultant

Under Canadian law,only a licensed Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) or a lawyeris legally authorized to charge fees for immigration representation services.

RCICs are regulated by the CICC (College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants), must meet professional and ethical standards, and are required to carry professional liability insurance.
